Our secure online booking system, unified with our 24/7 telephone customer service, removes the typical guesswork. Simply choose the services you need, the date and time you would like to move, and book your reservation. We select the best crew for your job and stand behind their work.

After booking, you get a receipt and service confirmation immediately. DHK Expert Movers and your personal crew will contact you several times before the service date and be ready to do everything you need done. It really is easy!

Why do you have a moving app, and why should I download it?

On moving day, everything is packed, including your laptop, but you will likely have your phone in hand. Our free app is a quick and easy way to double check the date and time of your service, as well as the details of your job.

One of the best features of the DHK Expert Movers app is it provides an easy way for you to communicate with the moving crew. The day before your job, your crew chief will send you a See You Tomorrow reminder. On the day of your move, the team can let you know exactly when to expect them at your doorstep. Why are you safer and more transparent?

The price automatically calculated on the screen and confirmed in your receipt is complete and final. We guarantee that you will have no surprise or hidden costs ever. That’s because you do business with us, not the moving crew, and that includes being responsible for any damages or mistakes.

Can I get a quote to compare moving services?

Sure you can, and you can get it immediately on your screen rather than waiting to receive an email. For every selection you make – number of crew members, number of hours needed, and optional services -- the price is automatically calculated in the upper right corner of the screen. You can mix-and-match service options and see in real-time the cost of your move. The confirmation receipt will not change.

What do you mean by flat-rate pricing for services?

You pay a set hourly fee for each worker handling your move. We do have a minimum of 2 workers for 2 hours. You can reserve 2, 3, or 4-person teams. You can track the cost of your move at all times. We also publish and stand behind flat rates for optional or contingent services.

What are the optional services and how much do they cost?

Although DHK Expert Movers offers labor-only moving (no truck or driving services) we do bill you for the following in addition to our basic hourly rate:

  • Items Heavier than 300 Pounds: This requires you to reserve a 3-Person Crew and an flat fee of $275 applies. If you have a piano, large safe, industrial tool box or loaded dressers, this fee is likely.
  • Packing Supplies: A flat $175 will be charged unless you provide us with tape, shrink wrap (up to 40 paper pads) and rope.
  • Full Service Packing: Your moving crew will pack your home. Cost for this (detailed below) is based on the number of rooms needing to be packed and requires a 3-person crew. In most cases, a full day of packing is added to the job. This service typically includes dishware, books, collectables, artwork, delicate and/or breakable items, clothing, etc. Our customers often discover that packing is more time consuming, tiring and generally overwhelming than they anticipated.

What if I just need just an extra box or two?

If you have ordered packing service and need a few extra supplies, our crew will be happy to supply them for you. They will keep a running inventory for you to review and sign. You will be billed for the additional items at the conclusion of your move.

How else can you make my move easier?

Have you thought about all the debris remaining after your things are unpacked? For a flat fee of $75, our crews will haul away all of the used shrink wrap, cardboard, and even palettes that were used to secure your items during transport/storage.

How do I know your crews are available at my location?

We have service providers in every one of the United States! If you are planning a long-distance move, simply make one reservation for your loading destination and a second for your unload destination. Local moves can be booked on the same reservation.

Do you move office furniture/professional locations?

 

Yes! DHK Expert Movers isn't limited to household goods. Is your company moving to a new building? Switching floors in your current space? Do you need someone to finally get that old copier down to the basement? We can help!

Do you use experienced, licensed professionals?

Yes. We only offer moving jobs to licensed moving crews. We conduct background checks on every provider and workers must be tested as free of drugs at least once a year. We also verify that teams have completed more than 100 jobs and have received excellent customer reviews Background checked?

Will the movers come with any equipment?

Yes! All of our crews will come prepared with tools for furniture assembly/disassembly, as well as hand trucks, and dollies. This equipment is included in your reservation; there is no additional fee for these basic items.

This is an hourly service. How do I know the crew won't move slowly so they can earn more on the job?

Our moving crews are professionals. The contract allows workers a 10-minute break after every 3-hour work period.

How far in advance do I need to make a reservation?

DHK Expert Movers offers next-day service and enables you to book as far out as 3 months in advance. Those who book well in advance generally are able to better prepare themselves so that the crews can get the job done quickly, efficiently and safely.

Do you work on Sundays?

Yes! We have moving crews available 7 days a week! There is no surcharge for weekend services or peak seasons.

How many hours will it take to complete my move?

Each move is different and there are no proven formulas for estimating how long your move will take. The following information should help you estimate how many hours your crew will be on the job.

Local Moves that require a crew to both pack and load any family's possessions, then unload and unpack should require a minimum of 5 – 8 hours no matter how selecting moving services, there are some factors to consider.

Loading Takes Longer than unloading because all of the furniture must be wrapped.

Jobs in Multiple Locations which include having workers load and/or unload from a workplace or storage unit in addition to your residence will require additional time.

Count the Number of Rooms and Furniture Pieces then measure how long the first ones take to be able to estimate when the job will be done.

How many crew members will I need?

Larger crews work more efficiently and get jobs done in less time.

We require 3 or more crew members in all of the following circumstances:

  • Buildings with 3 or more flights of stairs
  • Buildings with long hallways (longer than ) from door to elevator
  • One or More Heavy Items -- 300 pounds and over
  • Jobs Requiring Packing

Surveys of customers and moving professionals overwhelmingly show greater overall value in using a crew of 3 – 5 for fewer hours, than relying on a 2-person team working all day.

Does my hourly reservation include travel time?

Your time begins when the movers arrive at your destination. If you have more than one destination on the itinerary, the time that items and people are in transit is included in your contracted service hours. We do NOT be charged an arbitrary travel fee.

What if I need to change the date, time or any other feature of the service?

Changes are normal and can be easily arranged by contacting us at +1 800-640-0787 or via email. support@dhkexpertmovers.com . Please let us know as soon as you know a change is needed.

Changes to date and time must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start, or an additional 2-hour fee per scheduled worker will be charged.

Which credit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

I made a reservation. When will my credit card be charged?

All reservations made before 5:00 pm ET will be processed the same day. Charges made after 5:00 pm ET will be processed the next day.

Why do you charge in advance?

Charging in advance is standard in our industry because first-rate professional movers are in high demand and our moving crews rely on us to eliminate their risk, as well as deliver good customers on a regular basis. That formula enables us to provide the best personnel in each marketplace at affordable rates.

We do not pay the crew until they finish the job to assure your satisfaction and motivate them to arrive on time and deliver quality service.

What if I cancel?

Customer cancelling more than 24 before the scheduled start time may have charges refunded. No refunds will be made for cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice.

Can I get a refund if I reserved more time than I needed?

Our ability to provide the very best movers requires us to guarantee that their workers will be paid for no less than the time we asked them to reserve. Therefore, we cannot offer refunds for unused time.

However, in the unusual cases (moving typically takes more time that anticipated) you should get the full benefit of the crew by using them to assemble furniture, unload boxes, hang paintings, etc.

What if I need extra time for the movers to complete my job?

When it appears that you'll need the movers to stay on-site beyond the scheduled hours, let the crew leader know. He or she will call us so that we can anticipate extra hours. When the job is finished, you can pay for any extra hours in two ways:

1. sign for the additional time on the paperwork provided by your mover

2.give us a call and we can make the adjustment on the spot

Can I just pay the moving crew in cash for the extra time?

No. Your business relationship is with DHK Expert Movers and our ability to assure quality, protect your property and maintain a reputation for excellence depends on managing all aspects of the professional service from start to finish.

How do I know my credit card and personal information is safe?

Your personal privacy and the safety of your financial transactions is critical to our business. With regard to your privacy, we are an independent company with no affiliates. We promise to never share personal customer information with any third party including vendors or referral sources.

Am I supposed to tip the movers?

Moving crews perform difficult task, work long hours and genuinely care that your possessions are handled with care. If this is the case, cash tips are considered appropriate and always appreciated by the movers for a job well done.

When will my movers contact me in advance?

Shortly after making your reservation, the assigned team's crew leader will call you to confirm the details, learn particulars about your move and share the appropriate day-of information. What if my movers are running late?

Our movers are reviewed constantly and we assigned those movers who show up on time. Nevertheless (especially in large metro areas) arriving up to one-hour behind schedule is unavoidable. Your crew leader is responsible for keeping you updated on the crew's progress in-transit.

What if my movers don't show up?

This is unlikely as all of our processes are designed to prevent this. If you do not hear from or cannot reach your mover on a day service is scheduled, call us at +1 800-640-0787 and we will send out a replacement crew to complete your job as quickly as possible.

What can I do to help the move go faster?

Our customers may not assist with wrapping, packing, moving or lifting during the job because our professional are trained to handle items in specific ways. They also know how to work with each other to keep items safe. That way, DHK Expert Movers and our crews are fully accountable for high quality service.

You can help by organizing those items you have packed and having work areas clear. By labeling boxes that contain heavy or fragile items, and those that are destined for a particular room, you can greatly enhance the speed and efficiency of the movers.

We recommend that our customers personally handle important and valuable items such as documents, jewelry and the like rather than packing them along with everyday household items.

Can I leave my clothes in the dresser/armoire?

Dressers and cabinets with drawers should be cleared before moving day. When this kind of furniture is especially heavy, the drawers often must be removed during transport.

Do my appliances need special attention?

Most refrigerators, washers, dryers, and other electrical or mechanical appliances require special servicing to ensure safe transportation. Any moving parts such as motors on major appliances, washer drums, and icemakers should be securely fastened for shipment. Gas appliances need to be serviced and disconnected prior to your move.

Claims or Complaints

What to do if the unexpected happens.

A move is always stressful and challenging, but with solid planning everything arrives in the same condition as before you packed it.

Even the best movers do make mistakes. What happens if something breaks?

We strive to make every moving experience near to perfect, but accidents can happen. We want you to know what to expect, what to do and what will happen if something does not go as planned.

First, we expect our movers to be honest. When a mistake occurs, the crew will report it to you immediately and knows the process for reporting claims to our central office. DHK Expert Movers manages all claims, enabling our moving crews to stay focused on completing their work competently.

We make things right for our customers. We have a very easy online claim form and quickly reimburse you for damages according to industry standards, which is by weight of the item (60 cents/pound), with a limit of $1,000 per move; and $5,000 per customer.

I am not happy with how my move is going. Who should I talk to?

If you have concerns about your crew and how they are working, please get it out in the open. Communication can usually clear up misunderstanding. Discuss the reason for your unease with the crew leader. Point out why you are uncomfortable with how things are being handled or with certain behaviors. Every moving crew knows their customer review, including ratings for performance and customer satisfaction, directly determines how many jobs they receive from us. If you feel that your concern hasn't been dealt with correctly, you can call our central office at +1 800-640-0787 and we'll try to make things right.

When will my movers contact me in advance?

Your use of this website, requests for information, purchase of services and any other such contacts constitutes an agreement between you, as well as any entity you represent, and DHK Expert Movers to be governed by and comply with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1) Ownership

MD Expert Movers, LLC dba/ DHK Expert Movers.com and DHK Expert Movers is the sole author and owner of the content on its site. All content including text, logos, graphic design, images, and other content are subject to all applicable proprietary and intellectual property rights or licenses held by DHK Expert Movers.com and any of its affiliates. 

2) Eligibility and Termination of Use

The services provided by DHK Expert Movers.com are available to residents of the United States and Canada who are ages 18 and older. DHK Expert Movers.com reserves the right to withhold or terminate access to its services and website to any person or entity at any time without notice or cause.

3) Customer Contact

Customers agree to allow DHK Expert Movers.com to contact them via phone, email, and text message. Customers further agree to allow DHK Expert Movers.com to share this contact information and associated addresses with moving providers as needed for the express purpose of providing the requested moving services.

4) Payments

All customer payments are made in advance to DHK Expert Movers.com and these funds are held in escrow pending completion of services as contracted and recorded. Customers may validate completion of services and release payment by either: a) Phoning a specified number, or b) Signing paperwork authorizing release of payment.

Customers agree to authorize payment within One Hour of the completion of services by a moving provider. Authorizing payment constitutes an irrevocable agreement to release funds to the respective provider and the customer is not entitled to a refund of any amount released. The customer shall not attempt to block payments by attempting to refuse or rescind payments via a credit card provider.

Moving providers agree that payments must be received only through the two authorized payment methods: signed paperwork or via phone.

5) Limits of Liability

DHK Expert Movers.com operates as an agent for independent moving services. We prescreen and monitor the providers to achieve performance results that exceed industry standards. However, the providers we represent are not employed by us, and we cannot ensure their compliance with local, state, or federal licensing, insurance regulations or any other legal requirements. Customers agree to engage services at their own risk.

6) Refunds

Customers will receive a full refund when cancelling scheduled services 24 hours or more before a confirmed arrival time. Cancellations received with less than 24 hours' notice will charged a fee equal to two hours of services contracted.

7) Indemnity?

Through your viewing or use of DHK Expert Movers.com you release, and agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless MD Expert Movers, LLC its affiliated companies, along with their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, causes of actions, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees.

8) Damages and Claims

Customers scheduling services at least 24 hours in advance of the agreed upon moving provider arrival time are eligible to compensated for damages $0.60 USD per pound of goods listed on a customer's inventory. The claims and insurance coverage is not available to customers who have requested services scheduled to begin less than 24 hours from the initial reservation.

9) Reviews 

DHK Expert Movers solicits reviews from all customers on the quality of service they receive. Moving providers agree to do or say nothing that will influence a customer's fair and accurate assessment of the services they have delivered. Providers also agree to allow customer reviews, both positive and negative, posted on the DHK Expert Movers.com website. This information may be used by us to maintain quality rankings for governing assignment of jobs to providers.

All users agree to abide by local, state, federal, and international laws pertaining to use. Users agree not to distribute or facilitate distribution of any content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive, tortious, obscene, profane, or which otherwise violates this agreement. Unauthorized access to the DHK Expert Movers.com system for purposes of disrupting, damaging, mining, or harvesting any information is forbidden.
